I have watched a lot of your videos, and your work that you personally produce is spectacular
But I kind of agree with alterthesky in the sense that you have a consistent template that you always advise people. “More contrast”, “black and white”, “blow out the background”
Rule of 3rds on the hebrew image? Do you see the relationship between the angle of his shoulder and the angle of his bible
I think the shooter was intending balance between those two elements but missed slightly
I don’t know how you were very critical of that “lady at a light” street shot, but you loved the taxi shot…. It just blows my mind. You explained it, but still… It’s a mystery.

Jared i believe this shot at 5:54 are street shots so that is why he has a higher aperture so he has a better chance to get focus. i dont think he really had the time to quickly change aperture.
ps no offense im not hating or anything i seen your work its nice. but for someone using a D3s and D4 your pictures DONT come out as nice as i expected. i seen better pictures from people using entry level cameras. for example canon rebel series camera.
Jared loves his mono, he loves contrast, nowt wrong with that, we all have different tastes and styles. The pic at 1:47 woulda been much better shot in landscape to give a nice view of what’s going on, love the colours though.
pt 2.
I don’t have any problem with you telling people what you think, I just think you might be stifling creativity without realizing it.
What is really the point of us all shooting the exact same style? Nothing will evolve if we do that.
I don’t even have a problem if you are “harsh” with your rapid fire critiques, every one should be grown up enough to not be offended by criticism
But are you inadvertantly stifling new frontiers is my question. I know you don’t intend to do that

…. I have sympathy for anyone that feels the need to get personal on a photography video on youtube…. Hope your day tomorrow is better. Good night.

Gay. I apologized, so there’s no need to reply to my comment with a four word sentence containing 2 words which are spelled wrong. Thanks.
