DJI, known best for its drones and gimbals, has announced the DJI Power Series, a pair of fast-charging portable power solutions for recharging DJI drone batteries, other cameras and electronics, and the gear people need for outdoor adventures.

The larger of the two DJI Power Models, the DJI Power 1000, has a 1,024Wh capacity. When fully charged, this is enough juice to charge a digital camera 59 times, a smartphone 57 times, or a drone a dozen times. The portable power station has a region-specific 2,000 to 2,400W max output and dual 140W USB-C outputs.

As expected, the smaller, lighter, and more affordable DJI Power 500 compromises a bit on power. It has a 512Wh capacity, a 1,000W maximum output, and two 100W two-way USB-C ports.

Although the DJI Power 1000 and 500 have different capacities and power outputs, they both promise fast charging capabilities, especially with select DJI drone batteries. On batteries with the DJI Power SDC super-fast charge function, like the batteries in the Mavic 3, Inspire 3, and Air 3, batteries can go from 10% to 95% charge in about half an hour.

DJI also promises that the Power series products themselves can charge very quickly. The power stations can recharge through grid power in about 70 minutes. The DJI Power series uses an LFP cell with a 10-year lifespan, and the company promises that it will maintain over 70% capacity after 4,000 life cycles, which is a lot of charging for a power station.

The DJI Power 1000’s primary features

The DJI Power Series doesn’t require grid power (a wall outlet) to charge. Although they support 1200W fast recharge and 600W standard recharge modes, they also work alongside DJI’s Power Solar Panel Adapter Module or Power Car Power Outlet, which is ideal for people on outdoor adventures.

DJI Power also has an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) mode for people using it inside their homes. In the event of a power outage, DJI Power 1000 can power up connected devices within 0.02 seconds, which DJI says ensures continuous operation.

Beyond its USB-C ports, DJI Power also includes a pair of standard, region-specific outlets, two USB-A ports, and SDC ports.

The DJI Power 1000 is available to order now for $699, a $300 instant savings. The smaller DJI Power 500 is not yet available for purchase.
