Influencer Nearly Barred From Flight Because of ‘Hot’ Passport Photo

Influencer almost banned from boarding flight passport photo

An influencer was almost barred from boarding her flight when airport staff thought she looked nothing like her “hot” passport photo.

In a TikTok video, with over 13.6 million views, content creator Alisha Marie warns against using a particularly flattering photo as a passport picture.

In the clip, Marie from Los Angeles, U.S., explains that she was attempting to board her flight in Istanbul, Turkey.

However, she claims that her passport photo nearly stopped her from boarding the flight because staff didn’t believe it was her in the picture.

When Alisha presented her passport to check-in staff at the airport in Istanbul, the agents behind the desk were hesitant to let her through and believed she was using another person’s passport.

‘This is Why You Should Never Do Hot Photos’

“They almost didn’t let me on my flight because they said I don’t look like my passport,” Marie says while laughing in shock.

ā€œThis is why you should never do hot photos for your passport, because I donā€™t look like this.ā€

Marie then reveals her glamorous passport photo in the video. She then juxtaposes the passport photo with her travel-ready self to show that she looks extremely different from the image.

Marie then humorously takes her cap off to further illustrate how herpassport photo bears little resemblance to her current look at the airport. In a video caption, the influencer says she had “never been so humbled” in her life.

The Passport Photo TikTok Trend

TikTok is filled with video tutorials on how to take a flattering passport photo — with many creators advising viewers to take their own images at home rather than risk having a bad picture taken by a professional.

While other TikTok users suggests editing a passport photo in Lightroom to make it more glamorous and “make your colors pop out a little more.”
